the difference between gender and sex is that gender is the way a person identifies themselves(I am/feel a boy/girl), while sex is biological and relative to what they were born as. This is relevant to psychologists because it shows that your "nature" does not necessarily represent who you are, that your "gender" can in fact change. Gender identities are considered 'constructed' because in society there are set "norms" for each gender; ie things that men and women typically do, so as these become more natural and habitual to each gender, it is almost engrained into people that "as a girl, you are in the kitchen", or "as a boy, you go to work and make money for your family"
