Culture is a result of evolution
Genes that are valued are changed by society because of what is not desired or needed. We pick other genetic traits to value. For example, hundreds of years ago we valued a strong hunter. Now I can order food and have it at my house in 15 minutes, I don't need to find someone who can hunt. Instead, I would place more emphasis on brains and intellect. The traits we desire have changed culturally, which leads to a change in how many of those genes get passed down to the next generation. As we become more intelligent as a society, we continue to place more emphasis on intelligence instead of strength.
