When I travelled to Israel a few years ago on a religious retreat, I came across a particular cultural norm which I experienced that made me suddenly realize or became aware of. The emphasis on religion in Israel. There are three dominant religions in Israel, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, all followers of these religions work together in various work communities, however when it comes to where they live each domination sticks to their own community and prefers living with their own kind primarily because they religious reasons.
This is a cultural awareness because in Canada regardless of your religious background we are all migrated and live together in similar neighbourhoods. I think the difference in the cultural norm is, In Canada the focus is on financial welfare. You can leave where ever you can afford to live and not necessarily a person's religious preference
