The "good copy problem" basically states that no matter how much a minority may try to emulate and adopt themselves to a majority culture. They can never REALLY be X because we as human beings are REALLY good at making up differences which then create the group dynamic "us and them". Skin color, eye color, heck in an episode of star trek they showed the arbitrary nature of what we constitute a "difference" when a alien species were both half white and half black, but a "difference" in their population as stated by a member of said alien race "don't you see the black is on the left side of his face? His kind are more likely to commit crimes" and then all that good racist jazz.
As the audience we can see it for the almost comically silly arbitrary nature of the distinction, so even with these minor differences there can be class differences then how about something MUCH more noticeable...say...the apparel we chose the wear, musical taste, religion, etc. Well we make due with whatever small thing we can find, then fight about it...yeah we got that down pretty well.
So back to the good copy business, no matter how skilled of a copy cat a minority group is...well, something is going to stand out and by implication they will still be discriminated against for not being QUITE like the majority, thus the entire process is implied to be a waste of time. I personally like multiculturalism, that's how we have all different kinds of food to eat! If we forced minorities to become a particular way, well their cuisine would die out, which means for me personally...no sushi, no pho, no sharawmas, no shish tao or empanadas.... any of which would be a sad thing to lose indeed
