The good model problem according to the author occurs when a member of a minority group attempts to conform to the standards and ideals of the majority out group, since even if they excel to those standards and ideals they are never seen as an actual member but just a good replica/copy. When looking at this phenomenon in a multicultural society there are two major aspects to take into consideration. Firstly in these societies people are often encouraged to bring and embrace their traditional values and traditions. On the other hand even in these cultures people will always to form groups, according to the minimal group paradigm, which may include a slightly greater group, for instance closely related teams/nations/religions. This will lead to create a majority group to which people will look to conform to and as a result enhance and continue the good copy problem.
