It is possible that all psychological phenomena will be reduced. Reduction is the easiest way to look closely into our system and understand how the system works. Psychological problems can be treated like a disease. Identifying the source of mental illness by identifying chemical imbalances in parts of the brain is reductionism.

Hello cheslea,
I agree that reductionism definitely is a simpler way to look at psychological phenomena. However, is it possible that if we reduce psychology to biology we also lose some valuable information? For example, is it possible that a person has unique properties which cannot be explained by chemical imbalances alone? What do you think?
