Emotions are innate but they are environmentally triggered.
There is a correlation between nature and nurture when it comes to emotions.
It isn't strictly one or the other.
For example, an infant monkey will become fearful to a snake only if it witnessed an adult monkey reacting in fear to it. Then, its innate emotions will be triggered and exposed by its environment. If it doesn't see an adult monkey reacting with fear to the snake, it will probably not expose these emotions.

Be careful when using the term "correlation". This means that there is a linear relationship between two variables.
