I think we can put a definition to emotions and feelings but we use those words interchangeably. I am not entirely convinced. I think emotions and feelings are relatable but at the same time they are different. In reality I think that you can suppress emotions and feelings, and you can present feelings and emotion. Also you can hide feelings and show emotions and vice versa. I think it depends on the individual. I do not think it is something you can generalize, but at the same time you can standardize it. A doctor can show feelings in terms of empathy, but does not show emotion with the empathy/feelings. The doctor needs to stay professional, therefore the doctor shows that he cares but the doctor can not become to involved and invested with the patient.

Ensure you are addressing all parts of the question. Why does Damasio make a distinction between emotions and feelings? Also comment on what he means to say on page 111 by feeling not being a passive process.
