Phenomena:
"I continually procrastinate on really important school assignments . I always delay delay delay until the very last minute."
Approaches:
1. Behaviorist 2.Trait
Understanding the behavior:
The behaviorist approach deals with interpreting our behavior that is a result of our interactions with the environment. What is going on around us and our surroundings such as heavy workload or other commitments could lead us to procrastinate.
The trait approach deals with the characteristics of our personality. Example: being lazy, unorganized, or just careless.
Changing the behavior:
With a behaviorist approach , we should prioritize tasks and manage our time more effectively.
With the trait approach, one should try to become more engaged , active, and caring simply.
