Dark social constructionism, associated with thinkers like Foucoult, revolves around the idea that society shapes individual psychology in a deterministic fashion. That is, there is the structure of the social world, including institutions, norms, discourse and culture, shapes completely the way we as individuals behave, think, and act and there is little room for agency or free will. With light social constructionism on the other hand, there is considerably more room for agency. Individuals are not seen as merely the product of the social world, though they are in many ways shaped by it, but they also have the ability to choose and make decisions, and themselves influence the world around them.

Hi
Nice work and explanation. You have shown to understand both concepts very good. Keep up the good work.
Can you add more to the concept of agency and how its related to both light and dark forms of social constructionism.
Thanks, Ali
