statement: I’m in terrible shape. I eat too many high-fat foods and don’t exercise
Behaviourist: behaviourists are interested in why people behave the way they do. In this case, it could be a reward rather than a punishment. This individual feels 'good' or 'satisfied' with fast food. This is a form of reward. In order to change this behaviour, a behaviourist would suggest to associate this bad food habit with negative feelings, or find reward when he/she gets complimented by others due to their weight loss or due to the fact that they look fit. This way this individual can avoid fast/fatty foods.
Kellys personal construct: According to this idea, the individual going through this problem see it as either being fit or fat. This particular individual chose to see it in the form of fat rather than fit.
Statement: I don’t trust men; they all say they’ll be true, but they never are.
Behaviourist: In this case, this person has associated relationships with men, with punishment rather than reward. This could be because of past relationships with other men. They might not have been trusting, as this person may have been cheated on and gotten their feelings hurt. Therefore relationships with males are associated with pain, which is punishment. This could be because he/she associates with men of the same 'type' and a way to avoid this would be to focus on a single relationship, with a man who's not from the usual men she associates with. Feelings of resentment could be replaced with feelings of reward.
Trait: In moghaddam, he talks about the difference in personality traits between men and women due to evolution. Men can have infinite number of children given the number of female partners. Therefore, due to evolution, men want to have many children as possible to pass down their genes. Women have limited number of years as they are only fertile for around 25 years. Therefore, men and women have different strategies when passing down their genes
