When Damasio makes a reference to whistle a happy tune, it can cause a self inflicted placebo effect. Meaning that when one acts happy, even in times of sorrow, they may start to become genuinely happy. A false body map is described as feeling an emotion, for example anger, but having no previous stimuli to create feelings of anger. This can relate to whistling a happy tune, if one creates a false body map of happiness, in effect they will become happy.
