My example of a situation where we have almost complete freedom to make a decision but choose to do it a certain way repeatedly is our choice of wardrobe each and every day.
We have complete control over the articles of clothing that we buy and which of those pieces we chose to wear every day but we often end up wearing very similar things due to societal norms. There are countless styles to choose from but people choose their outfits based on advertising and current fads.
We do have the power to wear a paper bag as clothing but the cultures and "meaning systems" that we have created as humans prevents us from doing so.
