Some topics and ideas that as a student I might expect to hear about in this course are the development of psychology, the historical development of psychology, different types of research methods within psychology, fundamentals of human behavior and mental disorders.
I am particularly interested in examining the human learning processes. How do we as humans learn unconsciously and consciously? How do we as humans engage in learning processes consciously or unconsciously outside of academic environments?
I am also interested in understanding human behavior and emotion. For example, how do certain people have better control and management of their emotions compared to other's.
I sometimes find myself to be an emotional and sensitive person that finds it hard to control my emotions when something upsets me. I often wonder how other people are less sensitive or manage emotions in a better way. Hence it is a topic that really interests me and the psychology behind it.
Lastly, I am interested in understanding why certain individuals deal with life traumas, experiences in different ways. Why some people develop depression after trauma while others don’t?
