Education is viewed differently throughout the world. In the Western countries, particularly in North America, it is important to get a degree. A degree can be looked at as the carrier. It is very important to get a degree in western countries as it is the backbone of your career, if you stay within your field. In Eastern countries, especially developing countries it is not as important to get a degree because people there either cannot afford an education towards a degree or they do not require it.
