In Loftus research, we would add untruthful details to our memory of past events, or believe that the false memory of past events truly happened, thru powerful suggestions from others, especially authority figures. It shows that we add new stuff to memory unconsciously. In this case, we didn't repress the memory, but reconstruct memory without consciousness.
In my opinions, Lotus's research doesn't contradict Freud's repression theory.
I think, when we try to dig into the memory consciously, we tend to reconstruct our memory unconsciously by taking in powerful implications. And when we conform to social culture, we repress some individual wants unconsciously too.

Can you expand on the last part of your comment to make it a bit more clear on why you think Loftus and Freud do not contradict?
