It means allowing a child to do things that they would never do at their age which are; pretending to cook, playing the teacher and that imitations basically shapes the thinking of the child about the certain behaviours, norms, values that are acceptable through working together in a collective manner, where a child when alone is not able to accomplish certain things due to limitation of their shemas but we with help of a group they are able to accomplish that task.
An example for me would be that of playing cooking, so when I was younger I would go outside and make food with sand, and basically, as I grew older I realized that growing up I would have to make food.
