According to Vygotsky, learning is not a one way directed process between an individual and an authority figure. The experience is collective and collaborative. In a sense, no one has power over the other or is more superior/authoritative. We all need and depend on each other for a greater social meaning/experience. All parties exert some influence and help shape the outcome. All parties are equally significant.
