To have an extremely reliable but not valid scale means the scale is working and producing numbers as it should within its proximity of what it is made to do. Which is to weigh body weights.
Not valid because it changes with each person who stands on it, depending on the time of day that number may change person to person.
A scale cannot be valid and reliable because the number will change depending on if the participants ate or not just used the washroom or other daily routines that will change body mass.
Moghaddam means that laboratory studies cannot be externally valid because it would be difficult to generalize all participants in the lab as the general public. Especially when considering variables like economics, social upbringing, environment, married or single, etc. It would be difficult to get a concrete result externally. The same could not be said for a survey or interview because the interviewee will get a more in-depth answer or interaction.
