Zone of proximal development
When i was 16 i had my first driving lesson. Though i had never sat behind the wheel or drove a car before, my driving instructor made me pull out of my driveway and drive on Hurontario Street, one of the busiest roads in Mississauga. Since i could have never of drove a car alone, my driving instructor gave me little cues and pieces of support that helped me to drive independently. Learning how to drive on my own for the first time was something that i had not learned before but was in my zone of proximal development. This is an example of a situation where my driving teacher chose a task within my ZPD by asking me question's before hand to gain understanding of my level. A situation where my teacher chose a task for me which was above my ZPD was when that same driving instructor guided me to parallel park on my 3rd lesson but i failed epicly because i was under experienced and was not good at maneuvering the car yet.
