The nature vs. Nurture controversy can help scientists understand intelligence better for the reason that they can compare and contrast two people who are genetically, the same; however, they have different environments, or the same environment and can study the results in both cases. For example, one could argue that intelligence is based on nature if one twin was put in a high academy type of school environment, and the other twin was put into a lesser quality environment and when compared, their intelligence had a vast difference. Moreover, one can also argue that intelligence has to do with nurture if the same scenario occurred, but, this time their intelligence correlated to their genetics. Taking it a step further, it would also be interesting to see twins put in the same environment and then study their intelligence. Personally, in terms of the nature vs nurture controversy, I believe that both play a significant role when it comes to understanding intelligence.
