When assessing personality there are many methods a researcher can administer, with all having there pros and cons. The first method involves self report from the person being assessed themselves. This can be tricky and lead to misleading miss leading results as one can have a greater or smaller idea of who they are as a person. Additionally one can believe to be something the are not, thus describing themselves in a non objective manner. Another method involves accumulating data from ones surroundings. Here the downsize is that since being close to them may not see some flauds in their caracter, due to having high praise of them. A final method may include the researcher or therapist assessing. This also has a downside since this individual may see signs that are not there due to confirmation bias. All in all from my point of view the best mentho is the latter one as the therapist or researcher can control for their bias either by a controlled experiment or through training.

While explaining try to use the terms reliability and validity in your answer. Can you also expand on why you think the third method is the best one? Again try using the terms.
