A. Reports from close family and friends may be genuine in nature, but are heavily dependent on the individuals relationship with those being questioned, and the consistency across these relationships. Another factor that may effect both validity and reliability is whether or not the individual has experienced changes in their personality over the course of their relationship, and whether or not it coincides with the reports given by friends/family.
B. While Self reports may seem highly subjective, depending on the cultural norms of a given society it may be the most accurate representation of personality. While Moghadam states that peoples actions may not always be representative of their self perceptions, viewing personality as a construct may help researchers to better understand trends seen in a given population
