Scaffolding is a concept used in learning and child development by Psychologists Lev VYgotsky's Zone of proximal development. Scaffolding is a temporary framework or model given to children by there teachers, educators and peers in the forms of tasks, activities and play then assisting them in these particular activities. The teacher would step back and assess the children as they complete the task on their own at their own proximal development level. After the teacher realizes the student is secure in the task he or she’s doing the teacher would only assist as needed to ensure that the child is competent in the task he’s doing. Helping the child reach there fullest potential with some assistance from an educator and then allowing the child to do each task on their own at their own proximal developments level.
