Have you ever been in a situation where an authority told you to do something that you thought would be harmful to or inappropriate for others? What kind of considerations went through your mind as you considered whether or not to obey? What would you say were the primary determiners of the behaviour you eventually chose?
My personal experience in regards to a situation where an authoritative figure told me to do something that was harmful to myself and others was when I was told to do a task I was not trained for at work with a product I was not familiar with. The task was to clean the pizza ovens with this heavy-duty cleaner. The supervisor requested for me to clean the ovens although they were still hot, which made it dangerous for myself and the other staff working. The spray had hazardous product sign on it. At the time I just thought "okay, just do it, it's your chore for the night" and after I sprayed it, some horrible smell formed and a few minutes after, staff started feeling a little light-headed. I immediately stopped. The primary determiners of the behaviour were personal safety and the safety of other surrounding me.

Hello,
At the moment you decided to do the task, what were the primary determiners that caused you to do so?
Thanks
