Multiple selves
Due to the complexity of society we are compelled to embrace different sides of the “self". I disagree with this notion because there’s multiple sides and depths to one’s personality. Therefore, when we are forced into certain groups of friends, families, School, entertainment gatherings, sports games, restaurants essentially anything that has to do with human interactions, individuals tend to put on a new (personality) and adopts to the other person’s personality or conform to the group’s energy. Therefore, because of this I truly believe there are multiple sides to a person’s “self” personality and character. The notion to suggest that one changes beliefs and values because of the complexity of society is not reliable or valid. Due to the fact that we are forever evolving and changing, growing and developing as human beings it is fair to suggest that one would be open to experiencing new ideas, beliefs, values, goals, without feeling forced by the pressures of society.
I am inclined to favor The view or the idea of multiple view of self, the reason for this is individuals have multiple parts of who they are. Until we are placed in certain situations and around certain groups of people from various backgrounds, religion, beliefs, values etc, who will bring us out of or comfort zone and allow us to experience the other sides of the self we won't truly know all the multiple dimension to one's self.
Could it be that, through different interactions and settings we are able to discover a new side of who we are.
